Service Description

Enjoy a guided hike along the shore of Lake Erie and down the nature trail to look for signs of animals that overwinter with us here in Essex County! Students will also: Make and hang a natural bird feeder Play active lawn games that teach the concepts of migration, hibernation, and overwintering locally Investigate our Nature Discovery items (fur etc.) Curriculum & Outline Early Years - demonstrate an understanding of the natural world and the need to care for and respect the environment Grade 1 - Needs and Characteristics of Living Things Grade 2 – Growth and Changes in Animals Grade 3 – Growth and Changes in Plants Grade 4 – Habitats and Communities, Rocks, Minerals, and Geological Processes Grade 5 –Conservation of Energy and Resources Grade 6 - Biodiversity Grade 7 - Interactions in the Environment Grade 8 - Water Systems
