Essex– Athletes and amateur thrill seekers have yet another chance to get a crash course on the sport of adventure racing at an upcoming Introduction to Adventure Racing Workshop scheduled for February 20 at 6pm at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
Rob and Andrew Pula will tell attendees everything they need to know to compete in an adventure race. The brothers are long-time adventure athletes with dozens of races under their belts. They will share their wealth of experience on a range of topics, from proper race navigation and nutrition to required equipment and training. The pair will also answer any questions newcomers may have before making the decision to take on the SCAR.
“Once again we’re planning a South Coast Adventure Race course that will highlight some of our region’s most stunning natural places,” says Race Director Danielle Stuebing. “It will be great for both first-time and long-time adventure athletes interested in testing their mettle at the annual multi-sport event, which includes trekking, orienteering, cycling, and paddling throughout the Essex Region’s conservation areas and natural spaces.”
The South Coast Adventure Race happens on June 16, and a limited number of early bird discounts are still available. The SCAR is a beginner to intermediate-level adventure race, designed to be completed in under 8 hours.
For more than four decades, Essex Region Conservation has been sustaining and enriching the environment of the Windsor-Essex-Pelee Island region to ensure it is the Place for Life.
