Festival of Hawks Cancelled for September 14/15

Amherstburg – We regret to report that due to the severity of the storm damages sustained at Holiday Beach yesterday, the park must be closed this weekend for significant safety reasons. “We apologize to all who will be disappointed by this news, but the park is presently not safe for public access,” said Danielle Breault Stuebing, ERCA’s Director of Communications.

Staff endeavoured to clear the park’s roads of major debris yesterday, but the fulsome extend of the damage could not be assessed until daylight.  Due to the number of hazard trees and overhead hazards, officials have deemed the park unsafe to open at this time. It is estimated it could take up to a week to resolve the damages and existing hazards.
