Windsor-Shoreline

The Essex Region Source Protection Committee was created Under Ontario Regulation 288/07, Clean Water Act, 2006 to develop a Source Protection Plan to protect drinking water sources in the Essex Region. The SPC evaluates the implementation of the Source Protection Plan and oversees amendments to the Assessment Report, Source Protection Plan. The SPC is made up of members in three sectors: municipal, economic and other interests

At this time, we are seeking a new representative for the Economic Sector, specifically representing Greenhouse interests. The most common significant drinking water threat in the Essex Region is the handling and storage of liquid fuel in large volumes most commonly found in greenhouse operations. There is a commitment to participate in 3-4 meetings per year for up to five years, with a possibility of extension. The minimum term of commitment is 1 year. Representatives must reside, own or rent property, be employed, or operate a business in the Essex Region Source Protection Area.

To be considered, candidates must describe their interest in writing, accompanied by their resume by 4:00 pm on Monday December 9, 2019. More information and Expression of Interest forms can be obtained from our website: https://essexregionconservation.ca/source-water-protection/source-protection-committee/
