ADM & Friends Watershed Cleanup – Pike Creek

On Wednesday July 17, 2024, the Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) and ADM Agri-Industries will work with community volunteers to remove accumulated debris and litter along a portion of the Pike Creek and Hiram Walker green spaces along E Pike Creek Rd. Such a special thank you to ADM Cares for sponsoring the cleanup project and providing the support to accomplish this great work in the watershed.

ERCA staff will be parked at 55 E Pike Creek Rd (Urban Surf Co Parking Lot) conducting onsite registration beginning at 6pm. Parking is available at the Urban Surf Co Parking lot - please visit https://maps.app.goo.gl/pDYyPTcbfiQx8GgZ8 for directions to the parking and cleanup meeting location. 

This location involves walking long distances with litter collection bags and trekking along E Pike Creek Rd and along Hiram Walkers Green Spaces. There will also be two ERCA canoes available, with PFDs, buoyant line, whistles, bailers, and paddles for in-water cleanup works. Canoes will be launched from the Urban Surf Co Canoe Launch. Event Details & Volunteer Information

• ERCA staff will be set up at the Urban Surf Co Parking Lot conducting onsite registration beginning at 6pm.
• Parking is available at Urban Surf Co parking lot located at 55 E Pike Creek Rd.
• All participants must attest to and sign the Pike Creek Cleanup waiver before accessing the cleaning supplies
• Please dress for the weather, bring a reusable water bottle, bug spray,  sunscreen, and wear closed toed sturdy shoes
• Cold drinking water will be available at ERCAs registration station. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
