Education & Events
Events
Events take place across the region throughout the year to connect people with the environment and with each other. Check out our Events Calendar for a full list.
Volunteer
Essex Region Conservation organizes volunteer stewardship and citizen science activities, helps support Friends of Watersheds groups across the region, provides an online forum for youth to exchange ideas about our environmental future through the Youth Engagement Stewards (YES Team), and helps EcoSchools achieve their greening objectives with guidance in planning and implementing their schoolyard projects.
Education Programs
Connecting people to nature and the outdoors is one of the most significant challenges of our time. We inspire future generations with curriculum based outdoor education programs from grades JK – 12. We offer a wide range of certification programs for Specialist High Skills Major students. Kids can also participate in our Teen Ranger Program or Junior Curator Program.
The Essex Region Children’s Water Festival is held annually each May, and Grades 3 – 5 students will learn the importance of water and how to protect it.
Conservation Awards
Conservation Awards are presented annually to honour organizations and individuals who improve the environment we all share. Nominate an organization or individual who has made a tangible contribution to our environment. View a list of past Conservation Award Winners.
