Earth Day Community Tree Planting (Postponed until Fall 2020)

Working collaboratively with the Windsor-Essex community to slow the spread of COVID-19, it is with great regret that we must postpone the Earth Day Tree Planting Event until Fall, 2020. We look forward to welcoming you to join us in taking action for the local environment when it is safe for everyone to do so.

April is Earth Month, and Essex Region Conservation along with the Detroit River Canadian Cleanup are inviting everyone to join us on Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 10am – Noon to help plant more than 2,000 native trees and shrubs in the City of Windsor. While we have shovels to share, you may wish to consider bringing your own to this free event! We encourage groups of 10 or more individuals to sign up as a Green Team!

Event happens at the green space south of Wyandotte between Florence & Martinique in Windsor.

Parking is available at the Sand Point Beach parking lot off Riverside Drive. Overflow parking is available at the parking lots off Riverside Drive, adjacent to the Ganatchio Trail, between Bertha and Martinique.

Participants can use the Ganatchio Trail to walk to the planting site.

A map of the planting site is available here
