Citizen Science Tree Survey

In celebration of National Forest Week, we are looking for individuals who are looking to gain some field experience collecting data from a sample of the Earth Day trees planted in spring 2019 with the Detroit River Canadian Cleanup. This event will take place on Monday September 23 2019 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm  at the green space near Florence Avenue and Wyandotte Street east in Windsor.

Parking Options

Sandpoint Beach Parking Lot: parking is available at the Sand Point Beach parking lot off Riverside Drive. Volunteers will walk south down the Ganatchio Trail, cross Wyandotte Street and meet at the ERCA tent at the south end of the site (approximately 15 to 20 minute walk).

Street Parking: street parking is available in the neighbourhood southeast of the site, where the intersection of Beverly Glen Street and Florence Avenue is (approximately 5 minute walk).

What to Bring

Volunteers should bring their snacks and re-usable water bottle and wear weather appropriate clothing. Long pants and shirts are recommended with sturdy close-toed footwear. High school students who would like to earn volunteer hours should bring their paperwork along.
