Make a Lasting Impact with a Gift in Your Will
Your updated Will is important to ensure your final wishes known. In addition to ensuring the financial security of your family, you can also leave a lasting impact by making a final gift of conservation. And, charitable giving through your estate can result in significant tax savings. The Essex Region Conservation Foundation always encourages you to check with your own financial planner to discuss your legacy gift.
The Essex Region Conservation Foundation focuses its fundraising efforts on four pillars to ensure a future of sustainability for the Windsor-Essex region. These pillars include:

- Inspire future generations through conservation education
- Preserve our region’s heritage at the John R. Park Homestead
Bequest Sample Wording
The charitable bequest in your Will can provide a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your Estate, or a gift of the residue, which consists of whatever remains in your Estate after gifts to your loved ones and all expenses have been paid.
A gift in you Will can have a tremendous impact on the environmental future of our region, and leave a legacy of conservation for generations to come.
We always recommend that you speak to your lawyer and/or financial planner to determine if a gift in your Will is right for you. That said, here is some sample wording that could be used:
To give where the need is greatest:
“I give the sum of [ $____ / ____ % / the residue] of my Estate to the Essex Region Conservation Foundation, charitable registration 118902162RR0001, for general charitable purposes in conformity with the objectives of the Essex Region Conservation Foundation.
To give with a specific purpose in mind:
If you wished your gift to support one of these specific pillars identified above, the suggested wording could be: “I give the sum of [ $____ / ____ % / the residue] of my Estate to the Essex Region Conservation Foundation, charitable registration 118902162RR0001, for general charitable purposes in conformity with the objectives of the Essex Region Conservation Foundation, having regard for my interest in <insert one or more of the pillars of interest>.
